Brown among white and black

I have to say that I don't think, (in America at least), that the color of our skin matters at all. We are lucky. This is a dead topic.

Without context it is difficult to say anything. I don't mean to color (pardon the pun) your views but here's what I'd like to add:

People the world over react/respond to differences. Difference in the color of skin and language are the most blatant ones. It is human nature to be tentative (if not completely suspicious) of people that look and speak differently. The sensible ones are able to look past these differences but most people are not. And that's where the friction starts.
